Alibaba Forms Smart Service Company Lingyang

Beijing, June 29 (TMTPOST) – Alibaba announced on Wednesday the establishment of Lingyang, an enterprise smart service subsidiary company.

It is said that Lingyang will be providing enterprises with leading and agile smart products and services to boost digital growth.

“Launching Lingyang is an important step that Alibaba Group decided to take after long consideration,” Alibaba’s board chairman and CEO Zhang Yong said, stating that companies in the future would be mostly driven by data.

Lingyang’s team consists of members from Alibaba’s internal digital technology teams. The team is a merger of several core departments at Alibaba. Lingyang is tasked with turning Alibaba’s experience in e-commerce into smart products and services using digital technologies. It hopes to provide DaaS service (data intelligence as a service) for businesses in different industries.

At present, Lingyang has five main product lines—Analysis Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Product Sales Cloud, Customer Service Cloud and Development Cloud. The five main product lines include products such as Dataphin, Bizphin, Quick Audience and Quick BI, etc. In the future, Lingyang will be helping enterprises on multiple platforms make highly-efficient decisions and boast growth.

The pandemic has accelerated enterprises’ digital transformation. However, many enterprises face problems such as weak digital foundation, messy databases and difficulties with making use of data. Businesses nowadays generally need to maintain operation on multiple platforms, handle the deployment of multiple storage houses and managing several channels. It has become a pressing challenge for companies to ensure compliance and data security while forming digital assets and creating value out of data.

Peng Xinyu, Alibaba Group’s Vice President and CEO of Ling Yang, said that Lingyang would be doing DaaS instead of SaaS, which means that the company’s products would focus on driving growth using data and integrating business, data and work flows.
