根据中国移动官网显示，2021年8月份，中国移动的移动客户数净增363.5万户，用户总数达到9.511亿户。
当月，中国移动5G套餐客户数净增2453.7万户，累计达到3.04145亿户。中国移动称，5G套餐客户指订购5G资费套餐的个人移动电话客户，不包含未订购5G套餐、仅共享5G套餐资源的客户。中国移动4G客户数净增564.5万户，累计达到8.11095亿户。
当月，中国移动有线宽带客户数净增294.1万户，累计达到2.31195亿户。
